Our word this week is Intention. It melts into Purpose like a map, a guide, a light to disperse any confusion.
Intention: a determination to act in a certain way
Today, and every day, we set our intentions. Do you do this? For me personally, I set my intentions when I meditate. Even on the days I don’t meditate I try to lay in bed for an extra minute or two and think about how I will approach my day.
For the kids we often set our intentions in the car on the way to school. Sometimes the intentions are complicated but more often the intentions are to take some deep breaths or remember kindness. Take breaks and be compassionate.
Although setting intentions often take place in the morning we are reminded throughout the day. We write them down, post them around the house, and include them in ceremonies. Intentions have real and lasting power when set with thoughtfulness and kept in mind. It is not simply a matter of writing it down in a book and forgetting it, but rather a practice of speaking, living, feeling, and experiencing those intentions. Setting the tune of your spirit to those intentions.
It’s been an amazing summer full of summertime fun but now it’s time to kick into high gear! What are your intentions for this week? This month? This season?
